Question
y=7x-1
y=-x+14

Answer
y = -x + 14    so

x  =  14 - y

substitute this expression for x into
the first equation and get

y = 7(14 - y) - 1

y = 98 - 7y - 1

8y = 97

y = 97/8

Since x = 14 - y , substitute 97/8
for y and get

x= 14 - 97/8

x = 15/8

so

x = 15/8 and y = 97/8
