Question
Can you help me with this problem.
2(9n-1)+7(n+6)=-60
Thanks!

Answer
The first thing to do is to multiply out the parenthesis.
The 2(9n-1) = 2*9n - 2*1 = 18n - 2.
The 7(n+6) = 7*n + 7*6 = 7n + 42.

Putting these in gives 18n - 2 + 7n + 42 = -60.

On the left side, 18n + 7n = (18+7)n = 25n and -2 + 42 = 40,
so this becomes 25n +40 = -60.

To solve this, subtract 40 from each side and then divide both sides by 25.  The answer should be a negative integer.
