Question
I am trying to find the value of h to the formula A=2pir[r+h] when A=540 AND r=4.9.How do you manipulate the formula to get h.Please can you explain in stages to get h and why. Many thanks .

Answer
Since the equation is A = 2π(r+h), divide both sides by the constant, which is 2π.
All that will be left on the right is r+h, so subtract r from both sides.

This gives A/(2π) = r + h, and then, after subtracting r, the answer is h = -r + A/(2π).
