Question
How do you determine the common factors in an expression?

Answer
The common factors are the factors in each term.

On the PC, a^b is used for (a to the b).

If the terms were (a^6)(b^3)(c^2) + a(b^3)(c^6) + (a^2)(b^8)(c^4), the common factor would be
a(b^3)(c^2).  The result of factoring this out would be a(b^3)(c^2)[(a^5) + c^4 + a(b^5)(c^2)].
