Question
Same problem...working on them for 5 weeks so confused. please help...again lol.

1. The length of a rectangular boat shed must be 4 meters more than the width, and the perimeter must be at least 124 meters, What is the range of values for the width.

A. Exactly 29 meters
B. At most 29 meters
C. At least 29 meters

2. Two minor league baseball players got a total of 330 hits. Washington had 4 more hits than Sanchez. Find the number of hits for each player.

3. In a recent year, the total sales at Resturant A were $475,000 more than at Resturant B. Total sales for the year at the two stores were $600,000,000. What were the sales for the year at each store?

4. A new cruise ship line has just launched three new ships: the Pacific Paradise, the Caribbean Paradise, and the Mediterranean Paradise . The Caribbean Paradise has 25 more deluxe staterooms than the Pacific Paradise. The Medittereanean Paradise has 36 fewer deluxe staterooms than twice the number of deluxe         staterooms on the Pacific Paradise. Find the number of deluxe staterooms for each of the ships if the total number of deluxe staterooms for the three ships is 637.

Thank you so much for the help you gave me before. You are awesome!! THANK YOU!!

Answer
1. The length of a rectangular boat shed must be 4 meters more than the width,
and the perimeter must be at least 124 meters, What is the range of values for the width.

A. Exactly 29 meters
B. At most 29 meters
C. At least 29 meters

Take the sides as W.  This makes the length be W+4.
Since the perimeter has both ends and both sides, it is 2W + 2(W+4) = 4W+8.
If the perimeter was exactly 29 meters, the equation to solve would be 29 = 4W + 8,
so 4W = 21.  Divide both sides by 4 to get W, which gives 5 1/4.

If the perimeter were at most, the width would be at most that value.

If the perimeter were at least, the width would be at least that value.

2. Two minor league baseball players got a total of 330 hits. Washington had 4 more hits than Sanchez. Find the number of hits for each player.

Let Washinton's hits be X, making Sanchez's hits be X-4 since Washington got 4 more.
That answer is given by X + X-4 = 330, or, 2x = 334.  Divide both sides by 2,
and that gives Washington's hits.  Note that Sanchez's hits can be found to be X-4.

3. In a recent year, the total sales at Resturant A were $475,000 more than at Resturant B. Total sales for the year at the two stores were $600,000,000. What were the sales for the year at each store?

A = X, B = X - 475,000, A+B = 600,000,000, X + X - 475,000 = 600,000,000.
2x = 600,475,000; divide both sides by 2 to get x, which is the amount made at A;
subtract 475,000 from X to get amount made at restaurant B.

Let the stateroms on the Pacific be x.
The Caribbean has x+25 staterooms.
The Medittereanean has 2x-36 staterooms.
Thus, x + x+25 + 2x - 36 = 637, so solve this for x.
This gives 4x - 11 = 657, so add 11 to both sides and divide by 4.
