Question
Find five ordered pairs to the equation y=4x+1. Then determine its graph. Can not figure this out, I am not understanding it at all.

Answer
Take any five values for x.  I will use higher values, but lower one should be picked.
Suppose x = 101, then y = 4(101) + 1 = 404 + 1 = 406.
Suppose x = 405, then y = 4(405) + 1 = 1620 + 1 = 1621.

In other words, whatever the x values are chosen as, multiply each value by 4 and add 1 to get y.
I would do something as simple as possible, like take x as 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Then the 1st y would be 4(0) + 1 = 0 + 1 = 1, the next y would be 4(1) + 1 = 4 + 1 = ....
4(2) + 1 = 8+1 = ...., etc.
