I have attatched a graph for the questions. Please help me.

Given the information on the graph, answer the following questions:

i.   Explain why f represents the graph of a function.
ii.   Use the graph to find a reasonable estimate of f (– 2).
iii.   What is the domain of f?
iv.   What is the range of f?

Answer
I can give you some good hints.

It is a function because for each x defined, there is only one y.

The value at f(-2) appears to be roughly 2.

The equation for f is two line.
One goes from (-2,2) to (0,1) and the other goes from (0,1) to (2,-1).
The point-slope from of a line is y - y1 = m(x - x1) and m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1).


The domain is the x values and the range is the y values.

At (-2,2) { which is the left end }, the domain and range include the point, so a '[' is used.

At (2,-1) { the right end }, the domain and range have a, ')' at the end, since that point is not included.
