Question
Hello! We cannot figure out this problem..

12-x divided by 2 + 3 = 1 can you help me?

Thanks soo much!! :]

Answer
The problem is (12-x)/(2+3) = 1.

Now 2+3 is 5, so lets multiply both sides by 5.
On the left the 5/(2+3) = 1, so all we have left is the (12-x);
on the right, 1x5 = 5.

Thus, we have 12 - x = 5, so add x-5 to both sides.
This gives 7 = x, which is the same as x = 7.

Checking this out, we get (12-7)/(2+3) = /5 = 1, so that's right!
