Question
I have a straight line linear equation, I think it's a bit crazy, but here it is:
 -0.004 = 0.001x - 0.02

I need to know the value of the x-intercept. Can't figure it out...

Thanks!!

Answer
Hello Nick,

The x-intercept corresponds to y=0.
So, just let y=0 then solve for x.

The problem here is that your equation is free of y!
If the equation is correct, then just solve for x anyhow.
-0.004 = 0.001x - 0.02, add 0.02 to both sides
0.016 = 0.001x, now divide both sides by 0.001 to get
x=16
