Question
4d+9d-(7-6d)=4d+9d-7-6d
         =4d+9d-6d-7
         =7d-7

Answer
It should be noted that on the parenthesis, each term inside is multiplied by what is out front.
This equation is really 4d + 9d - 1(7 - 6d).
That turns into 4d + 9d -1(7) -1(-6d).
This turns into 4d + 9d - 7 + 6d, since two negatives make a positive.
Reorganizing the terms gives 4d + 9d + 6d - 7.
The d can be factored out, giving (4+9+6)d - 7.
This is the same as, carryihg out the addition, 19d - 7.
