Question
How do I find three consecutive integers whose sum is 96?

Answer
It is known that the three consecutive integers are n, n+1, and n+2.
Adding them together gives n + n+1 + n+2 = 3n + 3.

All that needs to be done is to solve 3n + 3 = 96.
After subtracting 3 from both sides, 3n = 93.

I'll let you divide both sides by 3 to get n.
