Question
Algebra 1

I need help on solving this problem

7/5x-3/6= -258/30x

Answer
Hello Autumn,

I will assume the equation is: (7/5)x-3/6=(-258/30)x ...OK?
In that case, first add (258/30)x to both sides:
(7/5)x+(258/30)x-1/2=0, since 3/6=1/2
Now obtain a common denominator for the coefficients of x, and add 1/2 to both sides:
(42/30)x+(258/30)x=1/2
(300/30)x=1/2
10x=1/2, now divide by 10
x=1/20

OK?
