QuestionCould you please assist me with these two questions
1. A ship sailed at a bearing of 49 degrees for 10 km, then altered course to a bearing of 135 degrees and maintained this bearing for 7 km. How far north of the staring point is the ship at the end of this part of the journey
2.the hiking club set up camp at town A. On first day they hike 5 km on a bearing of 054 degrees to a lake at L. Later they travel a further 8km on a bearing of 125 degrees to C. (a) Draw a labelled drawing to show hiking trip (b) show angle ALC = 109 degrees and (c) haw far will the hikers have to travel directly to camp.
I find it difficult to answer this question as I have no guidelines available to me to be able to solve these question. Also I would need to hand this work in by no later than tomorrow evening. i would very much appreciate your help.
Answer1. north distance = 10sin(49) +7sin(135) = 12.5km
2. You'll have to draw your own figure.
(b) angle = 54+65 = 109
distance north = 5sin(54) +8sin(125) = 10.6
distance east = 5cos(54) +8cos(125) = -1.65
(c) distance to camp = (10.6^2 +1.65^2)^1/2 = 10.7 km
