Question
I am stuck on a math problem, I have been working on it for hours.
Sure could use your help.

A=6000(1+0.04/12)^12*8

It says to simplify.

Answer
That problem is asking for the result of 4% interest over 8 years.

I assume it should really be A=6000(1+0.04/12)^(12*8).
If this were not so, then the *8 could be moved out front to makes 48,000(1+0.04/12)^12.

That is, A=6000(1+0.01/3)^96, which is 6000(1.0033333333...)^96.
This can be done in Excel as =6000*(1+0.01/3)^36.

The answer I get is \$8,258.37.
