Question
Is the ordered pair a solution to the given system of equations?

(-3,15)    2/3x=5y=52
         7x-8/5y=47

Answer
For clarity they should be written (2/3)x+5y(not =) = 52 and 7x-(8/5)y = 47
If you had put in the values -3 and 15 in the equations you would have seen that they are not solutions.  You could have solved for the correct solution which is (8.822,9.223)
