How to get exact value of log2(1000000) ,i.e log base 2.

By simple scientific calculator or by formula?

You can't give an exact value for

log2 (1,000,000) using decimals or fractions because it's an irrational number.

You can use the rules for logarithms to simplify it and then use a calculator.

1,000,000 = 10^6 = (2^6)(5^6)

So log2 (1,000,000) =

log2((2^6)(5^6)) =

log2 (2^6) + log2 (5^6) =

6+6log2 (5) =

6 (1+log2 (5))

This is the best you can do without a calculator.
