Question
Im having some problems with my homework and i need your help.

1. Which rational number is greater than 5 over 16 and 7over 18

2. How many integers are their between 5 and 14

3. How many rational numbers are their between 5 and 14

4. Express .46 as a fraction in simplest form.

5. Express 0.01-(their is to be a line over the 01) as a fraction.

I need the answers to these five problems as soon as possible

Answer
Think of a rational number as one that can be expressed as a fraction.  So any fraction is a rational number.  Also, any decimal that repeats or terminates is rational.

1. there are an infinite number of rational numbers greater than 5/16 and 7/18.

2. There would be eight if you don't count the end points (5 & 14)...{6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13}.

3. an infinite number.

4. .46 = 46/100 = 23/50

5. That line over the 01 means that it repeats, so you have the decimal .0101010101....  I entered .0101010101 on my calculator (as many digits as it would hold) then pressed the 1/x key and got 99.  That means that this is the decimal equivalent of 1/99.

Hope this helps.
