Question
I am looking for a simple equation.

If I have 1,000,000 widgets and need to figure out how many widgets I would have at a 3 to 2 ratio what would my equation be?

Thank you for your help.

Answer
I gather you mean split up your 1,000,000 widgets into
a 3 to 2 ratio...yes?

If so, then we want (1,000,000-x) to x to equal 3 to 2
Thus, (1,000,000-x)/x=3/2, now solve for x.
"Cross multiplying" gives" 2,000,000-2x=3x
2,000,000=5x...so x=400,000
so it would be 600,000 to 400,000

OK?
