Question
Triangle ABC is similar to triangle XYZ.The length AB is 10.The length BC is 7.Find the length XY if the length YZ is 14.
Hi Merisa,
The ratio of AB to BC should be the same as XY to YZ. We can write this as
AB/BC = XY/YZ
We need to solve for XY
10/7 = XY/14
multiply both sides by 14
140/7 = XY
XY = 20
