A homeowner is installinga fence around the garden at the right. The gardenn  has a perimeter of 220 ft. Write and solve an equation to find the garden's dimensions. Here's a diagram they gave in the book.I'll describe it

its a rectangle:3x up,3x down,2x left and 2x right.Please help me pls im begging for you!TAhnxxx

Hi Clyde,

I hope I understand your question.  You say that you have a rectangle with sides of length 3x, 3x, 2x, and 2x.  Also the perimeter is 220 ft.  Therefore, the sum of all sides must equal the perimeter.

3x + 3x + 2x + 2x = 220
add all the x terms

10x = 220
divide both sides by 10
x = 22

Therefore the sides that are 3x are 3*22 = 66 ft and the sides that are 2x are 2*22 = 44 feet.
