of three numbers the first is double the second,the second is double the third and the average of the three is 77.what are the numbers.

Here are the three equations.

x = 2y
y = 2z
(x + y + z)/3 = 77

let's write the last equation in terms of z.

x = 2y = 2(2z) = 4z
y = 2z

(4z + 2z + z)/3 = 77
7z/3 = 77
z/3 = 11
z = 33
y = 66
x = 132
