Question
i have some questions on polynomials.

1) (x + 1)(x^2 + x - 1)
2) (2x + 1)(x^2 - x - 3)

write in standard form.
3) (x-2)^3
4) (x+3)^3

Answer
1) you multiply x by each term in the second parenthese and then multiply 1 by each term.  Then collect like terms to get x^3 +2x^2 -1
2) 2x^3 -x^2 -7x -3
3) this is a standard form
the expanded form is x^3 -6x^2 +12x -8
4) the expanded form is x^3 +9x^2 +27x +27
