Question
Find the equation of the line.
Slope -2, passes through (1,1)

Answer
Hi Jason,

To find the equation of a line, the formula is:

y - y1 = m(x-x1)

where m is the slope and (x1,y1) is any point on the line.

y - 1 = (-2)(x - 1)
multiply the -2 through the parentheses
y - 1 = -2x + 2
add one to both sides
y = -2x + 3

That's the answer.  Let me know if you have any questions.
