Question
How do I find the slope of the line through
(8/5,1/3) and (9/5,2/3) I tried to set it up using the m=? equation am I doing it right? Thank you for your assistance:)

Answer
Hi Shavonne,

To find the slope, use the following equation:

m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

where (x1,y1) are the coordinates of one point and (x2,y2) are the coordinates of the other point.

let point 1 be (8/5, 1/3), and point 2 be (9/5, 2/3).  So,

x1 = 8/5
y1 = 1/3
x2 = 9/5
y2 = 2/3

m = ((2/3) - (1/3))/((9/5) - (8/5))

m = (1/3)/(1/5)

m = 5/3

Let me know if you have any questions.
