Question
the absolut value of 5x-2<-2
and
4- the absolute value of 3x-1>1
i gotx<0 and x<4/5 for the first one which doesnt seem right. i got x>-4/3 or x> 2/3 for the second.

Answer
Hi Trisha,

Could you use parentheses to indicate where the absolute value bars are?  For instance, for the absolute value of 2x+5, write ABS(2x+5).

If this is your first problem, then the left side will always be greater than or equal to zero, so the inequality will never be true.
|5x - 2| < -2

Rewrite the problems and I try and help you out.
