Question
Can you teach me how to do problems like this. Can you explain all the necessary steps to take? Like, why is xlog(2) = log(2.5) and how from that,  did you go to x = log(2.5)/log(2), and what happens if there were more numbers,what would you do.Please explain.This would be greatly appreciated.

Question -
Solve for x:2^x=2.5.Please explain all steps.Thanks.
Answer -
xlog(2) = log(2.5) x = log(2.5)/log(2), you can do that
Answer -
All I did was take the log of both sides, so x = 1.322

Answer
Come on now, you must be learning something.
When you have 2^x = 2.5 and you take the logs of both sides, the x multiplies the 2 to you have xlog(2) = log(2.5)
Then you divide both sides by log(2) to get
x = log(2.5)/log(2)
I assume you can evaluate log(2.5) and log(2).
It will work with more numbers.
