Question
Find the mid point of a line segment whose end points are given.
             (7,3) and (10,6)

Answer
Hi Jason,

To find the midpoint of a line section the formula is:

x = (x1 + x2)/2
and
y = (y1 + y2)/2

where x and y are the coordinates of the midpoint, and (x1,y1) are the coordinates of the first point and (x2,y2) are the coordinates of the second point.  Let's plug it in to the equation.

x = (7+10)/2 = 17/2 = 8.5
y = (3+6)/2 = 9/2 = 4.5

So the midpoint is (8.5,4.5)

That's it.  Let me know if you have any questions.
