I would like to know what is required to know and what I will learn in the ninth grade algebra class. . .

Answer
Algebra is a generalization of arithmetic...so you need to
know all your arithmetic very well...like laws of exponents,
dealing with fractions, etc...

It also varies a bit from state to state...I am in NY, so
what we do here may be a bit different in your state.
