Question 2:

A card is drawn from a deck of cards numbered 1-20. The card is NOT REPLACED and another card is drawn. Find the probability that a prime number is drawn and then a composite number.

Explain.

thank you

Answer
1) 6 possible numbers, 14 possible cards, 84 possible outcomes.
2) the prime numbers are 2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19 so the probability of drawing one is 8/20 or 2/5. the composite numbers are 4,6,8,9,10,12,14,15,16,18,20 so the probability of drawing one is 11/20.  combine them to get a probability of 22/100 or 11/50
