Question
I was wanting to see if you could help me with these problems.  Thank you.
1.) Simplify 500^1/2(square root, not sure if thats how you do it.)

2.) simplify 75a(squared)^1/2 /5^1/2

3.) Simplify, assume all variable represent positive numbers.  x^4y^3^1/2

4.)  which two expressions are equivalent
-49^1/2, -7, 49^1/2

5.) simplify
(a)8^1/2, (3)2a(squared)^1/2

6.) Find altitude of triangle
13, 13, 10

7.) Evaluate  (9/16)^1/2

8.) Determine whether (49/100)^1/2 is rational or irrational
9.) eva;uate
-3(64)^1/2
10.) find distance between points (-4,0)(-5,-3)

Answer
1. Yes, that's correct.  500^1/2 = 10(5^1/2)
2. I assume you mean (75a^2)^1/2/5^1/2 = 15^1/2(a)
3. I assume you mean (x^4y^3)^1/2 = x^2y(y^1/2)
4. The sq. root of a negative number is imaginary
49^1/2 = +/- 7
5. (a)2(2^1/2)  (b) 2^1/2(a)
6. 12
7. +/- 3/4
8. (49/100)^1/2 = +/-7/10 (rational)
9. -3(+/-8) = +/-24
10. x distance = 1, y distance = 3, hypotenuse = 10^1/2
