Question
hi.these problems are killing me.help

10x^2-30x+20/x^2-1

36x/-12

find the slope and y intercept of 5x-2y=3

if y varies inversely as x^2 ,and y=2 when x=4,what is the constant of variation?

use the quadratic formula to solve the following.leave irrational roots in the simplest radical form.
3x^2-4x-5=0

2x^2-3x+1=0

and finally

in the equation ax^2+bx+c=0,the value of b^2-4ac is called the ____________ of the quadratic equation.what does this value tell you about the real roots of the equation?

Answer
1. 10(x-2)(x-1)/[(x+1)(x-1)] = 10(x-2)/(x+1)
2. -3x
3. re-write it y = (5/2)x -3/2 so the slope = 5/2 and the
y-intercept = -3/2
4. y = a/x^2 so a = yx^2 = 32
5. x = [4 +/- (16+60)^1/2]/6 = [2 +/- (19)^1/2]/3
6. x = [3 +/- (9-8)^1/2]/4 = [3 +/- 1]/4
7. if this is positive or zero, the roots are real.  if it is negative, the roots are imaginary.
