gday Brett, i was wondering if you could give me some info on layne staleys final
years circa 1997-2002 regarding what he got upto, how bad his physical
appearance got and anything else you know if feel to be useful any photos of
him during this era would be great thanks nick

gday Nick well let's see. There was not much anybody knows what was going on with Layne because he cut himself off to the world. He let his messages pile up from people wondering how he was doing.

when I was seattle for the annual tribute, I met his mom and a girl who once dated him. She said that in the last few years of his life he was really into animaye is that how you spell it. He was apparently making a cartoon for his newphew. Who he visited when one of his sisters had the baby he came over for thanksgiving in around 2000/2001. That was something because he didn't do that hardly ever.

i don't know if you have the angry chair book, which sucks as the info is all over the place. But there was some interesting stuff about his last few months. He knew the end was near, he mentioned that he was shitting himself all the time and was sick real sick. During the phone interview he was getting sick and had to go. He didn't want this author of the book to do a book on him. Because the media and whoever always painted him as only a junkie, ya know.

It was a month after that interview, he was found. After the accountant noticed that he hadn't taken any money out for about 2 or so weeks. It was a very grim place, when they knocked the door down. Just sad, real sad. I don't have any pics from that time. Don't anyone does. But he did go across the street to a little bar and sit there, no one bothered him.
