AboutBrett Collins Expertise I can answer most questions, when it comes to general info about the band. I`m a big fan of the music and have read quite a bit of info on them and the late Layne Staley.
Experience My experience in this area comes from a love for the band, and everything about them. I also have worked in radio as an announcer for almost ten years. So I bring with me just a more than average knowledge of music especially my favorite "Alice in Chains".
Publications I do music research for the radio station I work at in Canada. So nothing I have done has appeared in any publications but on the station it does all the time.
Question If Layne would have lived until right now, July of 2008, what do you think he would be up to? Do you think he would still be in isolation and doing drugs, or finally letting people in his house, getting clean, and doing what he was born to do; which is make the best music the world has ever known?
No wrong answer here, just wanna know your thoughts.

Answer Justin I actually think that Layne knew he was dying. I say that because during the last year he was so sick, and he knew that his time was coming. I think that's why he started to combine the coke and heroin. There may have been a chance to try to get clean for one more and final time. But he just gave up completely around 2000. He had already tried rehab and methadone many times. At least the rehab was about ten times. Eventually you realize that is your life. Unless you have a fight left in you.
