Hi Katie,

Virtually everything in the pool is ripe for elimination. The field is Science > Physics > Physics. Many of the questions are repeats (especially anything to do with 'egg drop' experiments), and quite a few others are directly copied from textbooks. A few others are simply nonsense and should have been rejected out of hand by the expert.

I can see room for abuse if other experts are allowed to reject questions, so perhaps it is possible to have gurus even in low-volume areas. However, it would also be nice to have an option for the rest of us to send a given question to the guru to be considered for removal, or just remove 'pending' questions from the pool after 30 days or so.

Is there any way to dump questions from the pool? In one of my categories, it seems that others are simply dropping questions in the pool that should have been rejected. This is especially true of questions that have little or nothing to do with the category.

There is no way to reject the questions, as far as I can see; only a response is allowed, which sets up the expert for poor feedback.

There is no way to clear questions from the pool at this time but perhaps there should be. Can you pls. send me a few examples of such questions (the category, date and subject) so I can investigate this further?

To delete a question from the pool:

Click on the question in the list, and then click the "Answer This Question" button. This sends the question to your personal "Unanswered Questions" queue. This will also bring you to a page where you can answer the question, but DO NOT type anything into the form.

Instead, hit the Login (Experts Only) link at the top right-hand corner of the screen to return to your Expert Home Page. If you click to your Unanswered Questions list, you will see the question there. You will now be able to reject it like you do normal questions.
