I read some of the so called questions...which really amounted to comments; by experts expressing their fears that someone with some "actual" knowledge is their field may be overseeing their answers...too bad.

I sincerely hope your site does note cave-in to those whom would like nothing better than to be able to thrust their opinions and judgments onto an unsuspecting public without reprisal.

I like the guru idea, and made application for it myself.  What does one expert need to fear from another expert?...perhaps a needed critique.

Perhaps to keep the confusion down on your end, the standards could have been suggested and agreed to by all the category experts over time; then the program could have been implemented, uniformly.  It seems that the people behind the scenes (those on your end), will forever be reading through various standards created by each category's guru, about the correct applicable interpretation and phraseologies that may or may not apply for a variety of circumstances, which may over taxi your end?

I apologize for the delay in answering this. I was busy reversing a change from our rollout last week because enough experts did not like it.

We have been planning this program for a few months now. During that time we determined that our team can handle the workload. We decided that establishing gurus for 3000 categories all at once was a bit too ambitious. ;) So our strategy is to add new gurus slowly and incrementally over the next year or so. We can thus allocate our time and resources in a way that gives each application the careful consideration it requires.

As to your application, I've searched through the experts@about.com emails and can not find it. When did you send it?
