Question
QUESTION: Katie, I'm an expert in your Autism section. In my answers, I often add URL's so the reader can get more information. Is there a way that rather than making the reader copy/paste the URL into their browser, I can create hyperlinks instead?

Thanks for your time,

Sharon
ANSWER: The system automatically makes URLs clickable when we  publish the answer to the archive. I will ask our dev team to add the same feature when the user retrieves the answer from the database.

Thanks,
Katie

QUESTION: Would it help your dev team if experts used <a href etc. in the body of their answers to help format the links?

Thanks

Answer
Hi Sharon,

Adding the HTML anchor tags around the URL will make the link clickable when the user retrieves the answer, but the link will not display correctly when the answer is published to the archive. This is a bug on our side, so I am going to work with our dev team this week to make link handling consistent wherever the answer is displayed. We will update the system so that the interface will add the anchor tags automatically.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention,
Katie
