Katie,
Recently I sent a question asking about the number of categories allowed an expert. I have now found the answer,7, in your questions archive. I have viewed them before and have even added to one of the answers but have never had time to go back as far as I did this time.

Many on line groups have a search feature that can search either one forum or the entire group. I know it would be possible to add this feature to AllExperts but is it practical?
I believe it would also help to have a search feature for questioners. One of my categories is rather active and I have noticed that many of the questions to the top expert are repetitive. I don't know how many questioners would even use a search feature as many of the questions can be answered by a simple web search but it would be there to be used.

I am aware that search providers depend on numbers of references to a subject in order to power their results. Would the addition of a search feature impare the frequency of AllExperts order on the results when someone googled their question?

I apologize for the late response. I've been staffed on another About.com project and I find I can not devote as much time to AllExperts I as would like.

We (the AllExperts team) have discussed a per category search feature several times before. It is a resource intensive task, and at this point we do not have the capacity to do it.

I am not sure if adding a search feature will affect our Google page rank - but I will look into it, and get back to you.
