QuestionDoes the number of categories an AllExperts expert belong to have any weight on acceptance? Is performance in other categories considered or this application considered on its on? Finally, does AllExperts staff have enough time to review the applicants questions and answers in the other categories?
I am currently available for questions in four categories. I don't feel overloaded as I get fewer questions per week in all four categories as the top expert in one of my categories does per day. While looking around the site I found a category with one expert who seems to me to be weak in an area where I am strong and vice versa. I haven't been one of your experts long so I am still learning the ropes.
Thanks,
Carl
AnswerQ: Does the number of categories an AllExperts expert belong to have any weight on acceptance?
A: Yes. There is a limit of 7 categories per volunteer. We make exceptions to this rule for outstanding experts, but, in general, belonging to 7 categories makes it more difficult to join additional ones.
Q: Is performance in other categories considered or this application considered on its own?
A: 80% of the time, our admins and gurus judge a potential volunteer based on his/her application alone. However, when in doubt, we will read through an applicant's past answers to reach a decision.
Q: Finally, does AllExperts staff have enough time to review the applicants questions and answers in the other categories?
A: If necessary, we make time. Even if that means we have to keep some applicants in suspense a bit longer.
Thanks for the great questions, and
