Allman Brothers Band/Guitar on BEGINNINGS

Question
James,

I was just wondering if you could describe to me whose guitar is who's (Duane or Dicky) on the BEGINNINGS album (with the exception of "Dreams", "Trouble No More", "Don't Keep Me Wondering", and "In Memory Of Elizabeth".

If it's not a problem, I was just asking if you could identify whose guitar is whose on the rest of the songs.

Hope this isn't a problem.

Take care,
Hilton.

Answer
What u have is the 1st ABB and Idlewild South-released later to draw more fans-be sure to get the single cds of each-as recording process is superior-both Duane and Betts utilized a dual lead method-not merely rhythm and lead as usual bands-this is how such a unique sound was achieved-those 1st 2 albums are masterpieces of this technique-in actuality on most songs it is both players at once-or else trading off each other-seldom is it simply one or the other-their styles are diverse yer intermingle so brilliantly-if u wanna hear duane total solo-get both of his Anthology discs(well worth the cost)the best album for betts solo is 1972 live at Macon-which aint on the mkt but just happens I have it on cd-recorded just after duanes death-with a 5 piece incantation of the band that does several trax u spoke of and not to mention as good as they get live-even minus Duane-he did some fine work with Delaney and Bonnie as well-send me a few blank cdrs and I will do u a few rarites at no cost--I am james30286@msn.com-rock on....
