Its been quite awhile since I watched, but I recall an episode of AM in which RDJ was sitting at the piano, singing a song in which he seemed very, very sad. Ally watched, from a distance in a secluded area (IIRC). RDJ seemed like he was in such terrible emotional pain, and the scene was riveting, but then, it was 6+ years ago...
Can you tell me what episode I am thinking of?

Was the episode you remember a Christmas episode?  Because what I immediately thought of was RDJ singing the Joni Mitchell song "River".  That was in the 6th episode of Season 4, called "'Tis the Season".

If that's not right, let me know and I'll keep looking!
