Question
QUESTION: Hi! I wanted to know if you could help me identify this one song that is featured on one of the episodes of ally mc beal. it's got an upbeat music and sings about coffee.any idea at all? sorry for the pathetic guidelines!

ANSWER: Hi Shweta,

I think the song you remember is "The Java Jive", which has been recorded several times by Manhattan Transfer.

You can find lyrics here:

If that doesn't seem right, please let me know and I will see if I can figure out what else the song might be, but this one is upbeat and all about coffee :)

QUESTION: hi merrystar,
thanks so much for helping me know the song. java jive by manhattan transfer was the song i was looking for. it's just that...i was a little disappointed with how different the song actually sounds. but i guess it's only fair- vonda shepherd makes any song sound better with her music. isn't there any way i can find her version of the song?
and oh, i need help again tracking another song. the lyrics goes like..'yummy yummu yummy i've got love in my tummy' any idea? thanks again! you're doing such a great job, god bless you!

Answer
Hi again,

The only way I can think of to get Vonda Shepard's version of "Java Jive" is to find the DVDs for that episode and record it from them.  The song was heard during the Season 3 episode "The Pursuit of Loneliness".  Unfortunately there is very little music from the show available online outside of the soundtracks.

The other song you ask about is literally called "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" and it was a hit for Ohio Express in 1968 (it appears on the Billboard's Top Hits album for that year).

Hope that helps!
