Question
On the episode where ally helps a lady to marry her boyfriend who is in prison there is a song that she sings on the piano called for your love. I have been trying to find it on itunes or the internet but i cant.Could you tell me who it is by or if i can download the version from ally mcbeal from anywhere?

Answer
Hi Sandra,

The song "For Your Love" was originally written and recorded by Ed Townsend.  It was a top 20 hit for him (#13 in 1958).  It was also covered many times in the 60s and 70s, by such groups as The Wanderers (1961, # 93), Sam and Bill (1965, # 95), Peaches and Herb (1967, # 20), and Christopher Paul and Shawn (1975, # 91).  My guess is that while the Ed Townsend and the Peaches and Herb versions might be around somewhere, the others are too obscure.

To the best of my knowledge the Ally McBeal version is not available anywhere.

I hope this helps!

cheers,
