Alternative Energy (Solar/Wind)/Solar Farm

Question
We are interested in setting up a solar farm on our property.  We have about 4-5 acres that are on the south facing side of a mountain that get excellent full sunlight all year long.  We also have a major PG&E transmission line close by so tying in would not be an issue.  I would like to know how we can start the process and what needs to be done prior to the actuall installation of the solar panels.

Answer
I am residential installer so solar farms are not my expertise and I have researched and answered this question before from past questioners, but l can't remember the details.  I am going to point you to a company that installs very large installations, usually for utility companies, as that is who would be interested in establishing solar farms.  The company is called LS Power at lspower.com.  I would ask them if what you have is of interest and if not, what other companies would be a better choice.  4-5 acres may be too small for them, but you never know without asking.  They should also be able to also give you the pros and cons of creating a solar farm.
Good Luck, Marshall
