Question
Dr.
What is your opinion on cows milk consumption for older adults?
I am 50 and have had gerd, abdominal bloating, and gas for the past few years.
I have reduced my caffeine, alcohol, carbs, etc.,and even started walking more but still had the problem.
I was never a big milk drinker, but I have a couple glasses a week and  I use it in my coffee and tea, like cheese,etc.cheese.
Thinking I might have a dairy allergy(I am allergic to the hops in beer) I stopped all dairy.
Its only been a week but I my waist has shrunk a bit and the gas is gone.
Is this a coincidence or result of less calories?
Would it be healthy to continue this way?
Are there any studies on the health of societys that dont consume much dairy?

Answer
Dear Bud,
Apparently by stopping drinking milk you have less gasses.
I should continue stopping drinking milk and see what happens.
When you eating yoghurt do you have the same symptoms?
Try to eat a varied mixture of foods to have all necessary vitamins and minerals.
You have a lot of scientific studies about pro's and contra's drinking milk.
