Alternative Medicine/losing my crutch for music

Question
Hi. Found this site by a "fluke". I chose you because of your experience with both music And (emotional) energy systems; blocks.
Well, I've been "playing" guitar for many years. But I found (like so many others) pot helps significantly in the creative process. Indeed.
This is too much of a crutch now. I just can't come up with a fraction of the stuff straight.
Worse...I don't even feel like playing!! This is very strange. There's this missing mystical ingredient...
How can I get into the zone without relying on pot?? I finally stopped a few weeks ago - for other reasons. I'm wondering and hoping I get some natural boost once it's all out of my system. Maybe not though.
Thanks for your time, Marc

Answer
Hello Marc,

You are not losing your crutch for music, you are having very deep emotional and mental stress due to excessive information transactions. With your computer you call it overload. At that point you start sub-consciously blocking certain activities.
What you need is meditation, and a break!
Try to meditate with monotonous sounds, or notes. The notes should move now and than to an other high sound, until you don't like it any more, and restart, no rithme.
You could play a singing bowl for a few minutes and try to remember the sound.
Clear your mind and prioritize, in you case, music.
Any way, keep me up to date about your progress, and I may send a few other methods. My E.Mail is eric@silentsoundcentre.com and look also at http://www.silentsoundcentre.com

Expertise

Eric is an expert on Sound Therapy and Reiki. Eric is also a photographer and musician. Sound Therapy is a form of alternative medicine: a natural way to remove energy blockages in your body, to open your natural gateways, for the free flow of universal life-force energy, to promote a better self healing and a better energy balancing in your body and your aura. To do this, Eric makes use of the secret power of Tibetan Singing Bowls and bells.

Experience

Eric is a Reiki Master Teacher and Sound Therapist. Reiki and Sound is his love and interest. He always played music like any professional musician until he was attuned to Reiki. That attunement changed his perception and understanding of music, or rather of sound. He began to question what is Music, and what is Sound. In this questioning, a whole new universe opened up to him.
