Question
hey im a 17 year old junior in high school. i try to eat well but fear that im not gettin enough vitamins and nutrients. i lift weights and play football to stay healthy. i was wonderin if multivitamins are the way to go and why are u only alowed to take 1 a day? is it harmful to take two a day? im mostly talkin about cheaper target multivitamins. help me out

Answer
Hi Mike,
Taking multiple viatamins daily is a good idea. If you eat well you would not need to take 2 tablets per day. The risk of taking too much is the fat soluble vitamins in the multiple vitamins which can accumulate in the body. The water soluble vitamins are not a problem as the body flushes out in urine the excess that it does not need.
Thank you for using Allexperts
