Alternative Medicine/eczema - candida

Question
Hello Tonja,

My name is Janine, I am a 49 year old female, have developed eczema and numerous food allergies in the past 7mos.  Have had !GG Elisa test for food sensitivities and shown sensitive to wheat, kamut, spelt citris almonds, peanuts, cashews bananas, strawberries.  Recent test using electodermal shows additional allergies plus candida.

I have recently started a regimen of chinese meds, herbs that are boiled and dranks as teas.  Should I be tested at by MD for Candida?  Do you recommend natural anti-fungals or Nystatin etc. Are you aware of a topical cream I can use to stop the terrible itching and rashes?  Any diet suggestions?  I have been off wheat and dairy for 2 mos.  Currently eat soya products, brown rice, most fruit and veg, minimal chicken and fish.  Any dietary recommendations.  Also since I showed sensitive to sugar have been using stevia, splenda etc.  Are these okay?  Many thanks in advance for any advice you can give!!

Answer
Hello Janine,

Food allergies are most often liver issues. I would work with the liver.

Many MD's don't check for candida and don't believe it in. It is my understanding Nystatin pushes it deeper in the cells. I would not personally take it.

I would only eat fermented soy.

I would do the "Candida Clear" with Probiotic 11 as directed with the diet that comes on the box.

I would NEVER use splenda as it has a form of clorine in it. Stevia is a great choice.

IS CANDIDA SABOTAGING YOUR HEALTH?

Laurence Smith, BA, CNHC.

Candida Albicans: What Is It?

•         Yeast is one of many types of microorganisms found in the human digestive system.

•         Candida albicans is the most common yeast.

•         Candida cannot thrive by itself outside the body.

•         Virtually everyone has intestinal candida colonies.

•         Under normal circumstances the yeast lives in harmony with us through a delicate balance of bacterial types.

•         Approximately 900 species of yeast exist, although the Candida variety is the one we have to deal with. Similar to the type of yeast used to make bread, Candida is an oval-shaped microorganism which can reproduce rapidly by budding.

What Is It?

•         Approximately 900 species of yeast exist, although the Candida variety is the one we have to deal with. Similar to the type of yeast used to make bread, Candida is an oval-shaped microorganism which can reproduce rapidly by budding.

•         Digestive yeasts are considered to be parasites. Parasites are organisms that live by feeding upon another organism (the host) while produces harmful effects for that host.

•         Candida is a parasite in the human body that eats nutrients found in the digestive tract.

•         Candida produces over 70 known toxins as a by-product of their digestive process.

What Causes Candida Overgrowth?

•         In a healthy digestive system, there is approximately 1 yeast cell for every 1 million probiotic cells.

•         In this small ratio, yeast is constantly fighting to survive.

•         The pH of a healthy gut is not optimal for candida to thrive as they must compete for nutrients with good bacteria that far outnumber them

•         Unfortunately this ratio can become unbalanced, and candida can grow quickly and significantly in number.

•         When this balance is upset, many negative health effects take hold.

•         In healthy people the immune system and the probiotics in the intestinal tract prevent candida from overgrowing.

Candida Overgrowth

•         Candida overgrowth is the state of having more harmful bacteria and yeast than beneficial bacteria.

•         When yeast organisms are allowed to multiply, to the point that there are more of them than good bacteria, they are considered to be overgrown.

•         This condition is called Candidiasis.

Candida and the Digestive Tract

•         Candida overgrowth damages the digestive tract and causes auto-intoxication, the process where the body pollutes itself.

•         The entire digestive tract is lined with a mucus membrane that serves as a protective barrier.

•         The mucus barrier keeps partially digested food and harmful microorganisms in the intestines for proper removal and breakdown.

Leaky Gut Syndrome

•         As Candida grows and multiplies, it mutates into a fungal form that grows roots and secretes acids.

•         The roots, with the help of the acids, puncture the mucus lining of the digestive tract.

•         This condition is referred to as intestinal permeability or leaky gut syndrome.

•         The digestive contents that can leak through the barrier into the bloodstream include: bacteria, yeast, undigested food particles, toxins and fecal material.

•         This is one reason Candida can make you feel so sick.

What Weakens The Immune System?

•         Birth control pills

•         Cortisone/prednisone

•         Chemotherapy

•         Excess sugar in the diet

•         Stress

•         Obesity

•         Diabetes

•         Cancer

Causes of Candida or Mold and Fungus Overgrowth

•         Antibiotics

•         High acid foods/drinks

•         Mildew and mold in living area

•         Contact with mold in public showers

•         Excessive cheese consumption

•         pH imbalance

Signs and Symptoms of Candida Overgrowth

•         Gas and Bloating

–        Candida produces carbon dioxide in the intestine.
The result is persistent gas and bloating.

•         Brain Fog—poor memory

•         Fatigue

•         Inability to lose weight

•         “Sick-all-over” feeling

•         Thrush

•         Rectal/anal itching

•         Vaginal Yeast infection/Vaginitis

•         “Jock itch”

•         Athlete’s foot

•         Nail fungus

•         Rashes

•         Diarrhea &/or constipation

•         Allergies of any type

•         Intolerances to many chemicals

•         Heartburn/GERD

•         Decreased libido/impotency

•         Urgency, burning, frequency of urination/UTI’s

•         Frequent “colds”

•         Coated tongue

•         Anxiety

•         Depression

•         Headaches

•         Dry, scaly skin

•         Acne

•         Joint pains and stiffness

•         Nasal stuffiness, congestion, runny nose

Candida Symptoms

•         The preceding was not a comprehensive list, but will give you some idea of just how many areas of the body can experience yeast related complications.

•         The yeast syndrome can literally affect any and all of the 9 body systems.

7 STEPS TO CANDIDA WELLNESS

Eat a diet that starves down the yeast.
Balance the pH.
Use Probiotics.
Take supplements that systemically “kill”
the yeast.
Support the immune system.
Clear out the yeast as it dies off.
Repair the “leaky gut”.

Step 1: Candida Control Diet

Two things drive Candida:

1.      Sugar or anything that turns to sugar

2.      Mold or anything containing mold or fungus.

•         You should NOT eat Cheese, Vinegar, Mushrooms, Mayonnaise, or Mustard.

What You Can Eat: Protein:

•         Meat, (beef, chicken, turkey, fish, etc.), eggs,
(preferably organic), and protein powder.

Fats:

•         Olive Oil

•         Coconut oil (contains Caprylic Acid that
kills yeast)

•         Almonds

•         Peanut Butter (with a small amount of Silver stirred in)

•         Be careful with nuts as they often carry a lot of mold.

Good Carbohydrates:

•         Non-Starchy carbohydrates
(e.g. green beans, broccoli,  tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, etc.)

•         Fresh or frozen berries (freshly picked--not fresh in the store as they are often moldy)

•         Lemons, Grapefruit (No other fruit)

•         Beans (Black beans, pinto beans, etc.)
Chili is a great Candida cleanse meal.

Avoid these Carbs

•         You should NOT eat Starches, such as, potatoes, cooked carrots, rice, wheat or other grains except old-fashioned oatmeal)

•         Good Sweeteners include such things as:

–        NSP’s Xylitol

–        NSP’s Stevia

–        NSP’s Xylitol Chocolate Bars

–        NSP’s Xylitol Mints and Gum

–        NSP’s Ultimate Green Zone

Step 2: Balance the pH

•         Candida cannot grow in a pH balanced environment.

–        Balance proteins & carbs

–        Use digestive enzymes

–        Use alkaline water

–        Beware of stress

Step 3: Use Probiotics

•         Reestablish the balance of beneficial bacteria (probiotics) to yeast.

•         NSP’s Bifidophilus Flora Force is a must

Step 4: “Kill” the Yeast

•         Supplements that go systemically to kill the yeast.

•         NSP”S  NEW CANDIDA CLEAR CLEANSE

           (2) Yeast / Fungal Detox

           (2) Caprylic Acid Combo.

           (2) Pau D’ Arco

NSP’s Silver Shield

NSP’s High Potency Garlic

NSP’s Oregano  & Tea Tree EO

Step 5: Support The Immune System

•         Una d Gato

•         Silver Shield

Step 6: Clear Out The Yeast As It Dies Off

•         Kidney Drainage

•         Lymphatic Drainage

•         Candida Enzymes – in the new Candida Cleanse from NSP

•         This formula contains Cellulase, Protease 800, Amylase, Bromelain, Hemicellulase, Glucoamylase, Biotin.

•         Unlike animal cells, yeast cells are encompassed by a rather rigid cell wall, which provides protection from environmental extremes.

Step 7:  Repair the “Leaky Gut”

•         Soluble Fiber (Everybody’s fiber)

•         Probiotics

•         L-Glutamine

•         Eliminate Food allergies

•         Take this packet 3 times daily on an empty stomach

On a personal note concerning this product:  As many of you know I was on a cruise two weeks ago.  Needless to say, even I am not good enough to NOT eat sugar on a cruise.  Once home, I started this cleanse and have been amazed with the results. My energy is even better, I am sleep better and have had no symptoms of candida dye off due to the enzyme packets in this cleanse.  It is a must during the holidays to keep candida in check.
