Question
I am 49 yrs old.  In South Africa.  I am dying from night sweats and do want aternative medicine as i tried premarin before and do not want it.   The night sweats is killing me and i am finding it hard to cope and getting something that works.. I read about Olivia's  secret  herbal stuff.   Should i consider this?

Answer
Hello Sunet,
Thanks for your question.  I am not familiar with the herbal formula you mention, so I cannot speak about it's efficacy.  For night sweats I usually suggest an herbal combination containing black cohosh, an adaptogenic herb such as licorice, and a phytoestrogenic herb such as dong quai or red clover.  I also suggest eating a whole foods based diet high in natural soy foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, & legumes, low in sugar, caffeine, and processed foods, along with exercise and other lifestyle changes to minimize stress.  You might also consider a homeopathic remedy, chosen based on your individual presentation.  You might be able to read up & choose your own homeopathic remedy, but for best results consult a homeopath in your area.  Making some or all of these changes not only helps reduce night sweats, but provides greater wellness & prevention for whole person health.
Good luck!
