Alternative Medicine/Birth Control Pills

Question
Hello.  I am 38 years old and recently stopped taking birth control pills after 24 years.  I am finding that my breasts are experiencing a very mild pain that comes and goes all day and all night long every day.  I just had a mammogram and it was normal.  Can this be a result of stopping the pills?

Answer
Hi Lisa,
For 24 years you were on oral contraceptives. During his time you chemically controlled the hormonal blalnce of your body. Now that you are off the oral contraceptives the body is returning to its natural hormonal balance. The breast tenderness is normal during this process.
Thank you for using Allexperts
