AboutAsk Suz Expertise I can answer questions regarding helping or curing various diseases and ailments as well as make suggestions on what not to do and give my opinion on what traditional medicine says on the subject given. I believe we need doctors for certain problems such as broken bones but I personally have rarely seen a doctor in over ten years. I take over ten supplements per day at age sixty-two. I will do my best to assist in anything from minor infections to major disease but will readily admit when I cannot offer someone any help. I have discovered a fairly novel approach to weightloss in which I have lost ten pounds.

Question Hi, Thank you for taking the time to do this!
I have had 3 children in 6 years and began having spider/vericos veins only on my right lower calf. They increased in size and spread with each child. This last year has gotten even worse. I am not overweight, no specific health problems otherwise. I have seen an acupuncturist/ herbal care doc. who adjusted my hips and after a week of acupunture and herbs I saw a 75% difference in the way I feel and the appearance of my leg.
Before I saw him, I saw a naturopath doctor that did not know what was causing the problem, however, he did notice I retained more water on my right side, and had a weaker heart beat on that side. We did the "copper" elements test and I am a pretty balanced person.
Since stopping the acupunture/ hearbal treatments, it has all come back full force. I am wearing perscription hose and taking circulation supplements, but I need help finding the ROOT cause- not just treating the symtom. It is worse when I menstrate and after intercourse. Do you have any suggestions or advice at all?
Thank you again for your time!
Rachel
Answer Hi Rachel !
I've had spider veins for decades. They have a strong genetic component. They are caused by veinous insufficiency often induced by pregnancy. It's a type of stagnation or pooling of the blood. You can try and keep your feet elevated for an hour a day or try taking Pycnogenol, quercetin, bromelain, horse chestnut, horsetail to prevent spider veins. Vitamin C will also be beneficial in your protocol. These supplements will help strengthen the integrity of the capillaries, reduce inflammation and aid in healing.
One method that gets rid of them is saline injections into the vein.
They gradually turn white BUT often they return. And it's not a comfortable procedure so I've never had any . Mine run red and purple and are really unsightly. But , then, no one is looking at them except me. The other is laser treatments. I had 3 of them for $200 each and they did Nothing. I didn't go back for more.
Good luck, Suz
